Every clinic and every doctor on Healthorizons goes through the same question: can we actually verify this? Here's exactly what we check, and the international standards we hold our network to.
Before a doctor can be listed for a procedure on Healthorizons, our team verifies their certification for that specific procedure — not just a general medical license. A doctor certified in implantology can't appear under cardiology, and a doctor with no verified credential for a procedure simply isn't shown for it. This is enforced at the platform level, not just promised in writing.
When we evaluate a clinic, we look for recognized facility accreditation — such as Joint Commission International (JCI), the medical-travel-specific Global Healthcare Accreditation (GHA), or ISO 9001 quality management — alongside each doctor's national medical council licensure and specialty board certification. Facility accreditation and individual doctor credentials are two different things, and we check for both, not just one.
Clinics upload the original document for each licence or accreditation (for example JCI, ISO or a ministry licence). Our team checks it, and only then does a badge appear on the clinic’s profile. When a certificate expires, its badge disappears automatically.
Your medical history and personal details are sensitive by definition. We handle them under GDPR's strict rules for health data, and they're only ever shared with the clinic and doctor you choose to work with — never sold, never used for anything else.
